Merci pour :

SOME INVENTIONS WHICH HAVE CHANGE THE WORLD, AND THE LIFE OF EVERYBODY

Thank you for :

La pile (ou la batterie)

Alessandro VOLTA (1745-1827), physicien,
Italie, 1794

The Battery

Alessandro VOLTA (1745-1827), physicist,
makes the electrophore, the condenser, then, his great discovery : the battery.
Italy, 1794

The Microscope

• compound microscope(objective + eyepiece), attributed to
Zacharias JANSEN
Netherland, ca. 1590

Antoni VAN LEEUWENHOEK
uses for its researches a
• simple microscope (one single lens) with amazing results, in spite of the rudimentary aspect of the instrument : the lenses allowed magnifications
from 50 to 270 x !
Holland, from 1668

Les lunettes, bésicles

Invention généralement attribuée à
Salvino d'ARMATO degli Armati.
Italie, vers 1280

mais Roger BACON
en mentionne dans son
livre Opus Major de
1268, Angleterre

Italy, around 1280

but Roger BACON

1268, England

La longue-vue

attribuée à Hans LIPPERSEY
vers 1606, Hollande

The Telescope

Attributed to
Hans LIPPERSEY
around 1606, Holland.

Idea perfected a bit later by GALILEO,
which was the first to study the sky with a telescope. He gave so a large echo amidst the scientific circles both to the instrument and to his observations.
Italy, early 17th. c.
Le télescope à miroirs

P. ZEUCHI réalisa le premier instrument.
France, 1616

Puis Isaac NEWTON :

The Reflecting Telescope

P. ZEUCHI maked the first instrument.
France, 1616

Then Isaac NEWTON:
his instrument has a big concave mirror and a small plain mirror at 45 °; the eyepiece is on the side of the tube.
England, 1688

GREGORY, physicist:
big and small concave mirrors.
England, 1663

CASSEGRAIN:
the small mirror is convex.
France, on 1672

(the eyepiece of the two last ones is behind the big pierced mirror, in the continuation
of the tube)

Le baromètre

• à mercure attribué à
Evangelista TORRICELLI
Italie, 1643

• à double liquide
Christian HUYGENS
amplification 10 x
Hollande, 1672

• à poulie
Robert HOOKE
amplification 7x
Angleterre, 1663

• à eau réinventé par
J.W. von GOETHE
vers 1793 Allemagne

• anéroïde G.W. LEIBNITZ
en pose les principes
Allemagne, 1700

puis Lucien VIDIE
France, 1843

Germany, ca. 1793

• aneroid G.W. LEIBNITZ

Germany, 1700

then, Lucien VIDIE
makes it. It is a vacuumed metallic chamber. The changes of the atmospheric pressure modify the thickness. These variations are transmitted on the axis of the needle.
France, 1843

baromètre à eau
Le thermomètre

Inventé par Cornélius DREBEL
Hollande, 1631

Perfectionné par :

FARENHEIT
(fusion glace/sel/eau = 0°,
ébullition de l'eau = 212° F)
Allemagne,1714

RÉAUMUR
(glace fondante = 0° R
ébullition = 80° R)
France,1730
